Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
I’m Helen Fowler, an independent marketing consultant operating as a sole trader under my legal name. My ABN is 41 476 978 942.
This policy explains how I handle personal information through my consultancy and webpage, helenfowlermarketing.com.
My webpage
My webpage outlines my services and provides my contact details. It has no contact form, newsletter signup or chat widget.
I have not installed Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or advertising tracking pixels. The webpage uses OpenAI Sites hosting, Cloudflare security and Google Fonts. These services process technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, to deliver and protect the webpage. Cloudflare’s security checks may use cookies.
Information I collect and use
If you email or phone me, I keep your contact details and our correspondence so I can respond, discuss potential work and manage our professional relationship. This may include your name, role, organisation and information you choose to share.
If we work together, I also keep relevant project information, contracts, invoices and payment records to deliver the work and administer our engagement. I may share relevant records with an accountant or tax agent for accounting and tax purposes.
I also contact people in my professional network about my consultancy. I do not currently run a newsletter or bulk mailing list. You can ask me to stop sending promotional messages at any time.
You can make a general enquiry without identifying yourself, although I may need contact details to respond.
Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or identifiable customer records unless we have first agreed how to handle them.
Client engagements
When I work with a client organisation, I handle its information in accordance with our agreement, its agreed privacy and confidentiality requirements, and applicable law. This includes any agreed restrictions on AI tools.
The tools I use
I use Google for business email and Google Drive for business documents.
I use ChatGPT and Claude to help with correspondence, research and administration. This can involve processing names, contact details and relevant email content, including through connected email access, subject to the client-engagement requirements above.
I have switched off the settings allowing conversations to be used to improve the models on both accounts. The providers still process and may retain information to operate their services and meet safety and legal requirements.
Some of these services may process information outside Australia. Further details are available in the privacy policies of Google, OpenAI and Anthropic.
I do not sell, rent or trade personal information. I may disclose information where required by law.
Keeping information safe
I use account verification measures and password or biometric protection on my computer and phone to help protect personal information.
I keep information for as long as reasonably needed for business or legal purposes. Tax law generally requires me to keep most tax records for five years, and some for longer.
I will review records at least annually and take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify information I no longer need, while keeping records required by law.
Questions, corrections and complaints
I take reasonable steps to keep the personal information I use accurate and up to date. Please contact me if your details change.
Email hello@helenfowlermarketing.com to ask about your information, request access or a correction, or raise a privacy complaint. I may need to verify your identity before providing information.
I will investigate complaints and aim to respond within 30 days, explaining any delay. If you remain dissatisfied, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner can advise whether your complaint falls within its jurisdiction.
Updates
I will update this policy when my information-handling practices change. The current version will be available on my webpage.
